October 21st: I arrived in Kathmandu at 16:00 pm and took a standard deluxe room in Hotel Utse for $19. After a good shower I took the route to Kathmandu guesthouse to have a dinner.
October 22nd: After my breakfast at Yum Yum I walked to the Royal Palace. On the way
back I visited Himalayan Encounters to get a refund for the rafting trip I couldn't make. They refunded me $ 80 and with a lot of rupees richer I returned to my hotel to have some sunbathing in the roofgarden.
October 23rd: a relaxing day in Kathmandu. Had a short walk to New road and returned via Singh Durbar.
October 24th: today I visited Patan. Patan is seperated from Kathmandu only by the Bagmati river and is the second largest town in the valley. Patan's Durbar Square is absolutely packed with temples;
it's an architectural feast with a far greater concentration of temples per square metre than in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. Numerous other temples of widely diverse style as well as bahals (Buddhist monestaries) are scattered around this fascinating town. After I visited some temples, such as the Golden Temple, I had a lunch in a rooftop restaurant and had an outstanding view over the square. In the evening I had a dinner with some other Dutch tourists and had a beer in a Mexican bar.
October 25th:another relaxing day in Kathmandu. Did some shopping and had dinner with two other Dutch tourists.
October 26th: me and two other Dutch travellers visited Kathmandu's Durbar Square and i
used me first ticket to get in. When we arrived in the hotel we heard that our plane was delayed for six hours but this information was wrong. We left Nepal on 20:20 pm for our flight to Amsterdam
