On the way to Malang I met some other tourists in the bus. We arrived in Malang at 18:00 and we went to Toko Oen for a dinner. On our way back we lost and returned in our hotel Helios at 21:30. The other Dutch guy booked a trip for us to Mount Bromo for tonight.
We woke up at 1:00 in te night and drove to Mount Bromo in two and a half hours. When we arrived lots of jeeps and minibuses were already there to be at the top for the impressive sunrise. Gunung Bromo (2392 m) is an active volcano lying in the center of the Tenger Massif, a spectacular volcanic landscape and one of the most impressive sight in Indonesia. The massive Tenger crater stretches 10 km across and it's steep walls plunge down to a vast, flat sea of lava sand, From the crater floor emerges the smoking peak of Gunung Bromo, the spiritual centre of the highlands. A lot of tourists took horses to bring them to the top but we walked to the crater and had a good view. We arrived in our hotel at 11:00 am and were so tired tat we had a few hours sleep. We will leave Malang tomorrow morning att 6:00 AM.
