Jamie--Okay!  We packed up all our things and headed out today with the intention of being in some other town by day's end.  First of all, the TomTom made it difficult to leave Cody;  it wanted us to turn onto roads, then changed its "mind" etc.  So Ty took the lead soon after we left town.  We travelled all day through and near the Beartooth Pass--absolutely gorgeous country!!!  The pictures will speak for for us!  Kate, I made sure to also get some plant shots just for you!!!  I don't believe we were using a map, so by the end of the day we still found ourselves near Cody.  So we followed the road signs into town and tried to find another hotel room;  it turned out that the best deal in town was the place we had moved out of the previous night, and it was still available!!!  We were really tired, so we had a breakfast dinner and spent some time transferring photos to computers.  I'll put a few of them here (I took about a hundred)!  Tomorrow we will head to Yellowstone and hope to be staying on the other side somewhere!

Joan --  We got out on the bikes today and rode the Beartooth Pass starting in Montana and rode one of the most beautiful rides.  We had snow around us :-) lots of twisties, hairpin turns and places to look out over the mountains.  Wow!

It was late in the day and storms were brewing so we made the decision to not go to Yellowstone National Park until tomorrow.  So we went back to Cody, the only place we knew that had hotels.  We were chased by storms but rode the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway back to Cody.  What a pleasant surprise.  I think it is more beautiful than the Beartooth Pass.

As Jamie has already written, we ended up returning to the place we'd been staying all week :-)  They were the most reasonable... and they gave a good deal on the room.  We'll head out early in the morning tomorrow and take the Chief Joseph Highway going back up to Yellowstone.

It was a very nice ride today.

Yeah Kate....I'm thinking I might actually have to put a new "band" together...but that would be a "stretch"...... ;-)
