Where I stayed
Jamie--Early in the morning I called AAA to report that my keys were locked in the trunk of the chuck wagon. They sent a guy to assist me at 7:30 am--a much earlier response than I expected. He immediately unlocked the main part of the car, thereby setting off the car alarm. The horn loudly tooted for quite a while (waking everyone staying at the motel) until he got the battery disconnected. However, once the battery was disconnected, he could not use the trunk release! He had to unlock the trunk by going in through the back seat. The great news is . . . I now have the keys back. Wow, I really got use out of this years AAA membership!
We spent the morning in a business meeting at the convention; we were free during most of the afternoon. I really enjoyed the trip to the museum; this museum was also a learning center with classes, interactive games and scavenger hunts. Our evening consisted of a banquet and program. All in all, I really enjoyed the convention and made some new friends.
Joan -- It's always a bit sad to have the last day of convention upon us. Saying goodbye for another year to friends that live far away, having a laugh together, taking pictures, telling stories is what the last day seems to entail. We were not staying at the hotel where convention is held but on the last day we wandered around the cabins and visited with our Canadian friends. It got cold! We had some last minute fun! Thank you to Joan D for taking some of our "stuff" home :) Now we don't have to carry so much... including my broken laptop.
