I've decided to write today's entry.  Last night was uneventful with the exception that Daniel had his first experience with White Castle burgers and Chicken rings. We don't have White Castle in PA or in FL. In FL we have Krystal. Not exactly the same but close.  Our intent was to visit the St Louis Arch and a few other places however when we got up and checked the weather we thought better of it. The remnants of Fay are going to be working up the east coast and it's supposed to bring a lot of rain. That would really suck to have to ride the remainder of the week in the rain. So instead we ate breakfast at Bob Evans and went down the street to visit the  local Harley Dealer. They were having a big special event today with music and food and all kinds of fun things that go along with bike events.  We arrived as they were still setting up so we went inside and were greeted by Tina and the other sales girls. We wondered around inside and found some folks that were doing  tattoos.  Getting a tattoo is something that I've been considering for awhile so I paged through the book and actually found some nice ones. My friend Shane told me the last time that I talked to him that I wasn't allowed to come home unless I had a tattoo so keeping that in mind I selected one that I liked and decided to make it count. I chose to have it put on my right arm. Daniel immediate broke out into a cold sweat and asked if anyone had smelling salts handy because he  is afraid of needles. You would have thought he was the one getting the tat. Anyway, I sat down and the process began. It was far less painful than I expected.  While  I was sitting there several people came by to see what was going on. One couple was visiting all the way from Mexico. Manuel and Carolina are from Chile and now live in Mexico. They are traveling the US on their motorcycle. I guess I'm not the only one with a sense of biking adventure.  The whole process only took about an hour and I even managed to get Daniel to take a few pictures while the tat master was at work. See for yourself how it turned out. I am quite pleased.

After the tat we had to kill some time so I could take the bandage off before we left so we ate some burgers and hot dogs and talked with some more folks about the adventure we were on.  We considered hanging around for the contests. We thought we could nail the dirtiest bike and most heavily packed motorcycle entries but by this time we were really behind on our intended schedule so we mounted up and rode off.  Before leaving St Louis we stopped by Wal-Mart to refill some windshield cleaner bottles and get some things to take care of my new tat. After that we were on the road. One of our fuel breaks brought us to a store with some interesting novelty signs that we thought were funny so we took some pictures. 200 miles later we stopped at Cracker Barrel to get something to eat and give me some time to do this entry. <brief pause> Well we rode another 100 miles and made it about 1 hour from Ohio. If we hustle tomorrow we can make it back to Harrisburg PA before the weather hits. I'm sure we missed a bunch of cool things to see but 3 or 4 days of rain would be a killer.  I'll make it up in the next few weeks. I have some ideas.

Oh, in case you are keeping track, I have done 6945 miles so far..... that should be worth a donation or two. Don't you think? ;-)
