We awoke to a beautiful morning in Colorado Springs with an awesome view of Pikes Peak from Mary's Sun room. Today was a great day. Mary being the wonderful hostess she is also played tour guide. I'm going to let Daniel give the details.... he does such a great job.

Today Mary joined us on our journey. We stopped at The Egg and I for breakfast and was quite surprised with a wonderful breakfast.
We tried to get into the Air Force Academy to have a look around and watch the video about the Academy but they would not let us on base. They said that bikers had to wear long sleeves, bright colored shirts, full fingered gloves, boots and helmets. We had some but not all of the requirements so we will try again tomorrow.
We then rode to the base of Pikes Peak. We stopped at a place called Garden of the Gods where we witnessed such sights as the kissing camels and a side profile of George Washington (or was it Martha)? This place was only describable by the photos we took
Next we went to a Sprint store to try to get Joe's phone repaired or replaced. They directed us to their service center and called to make sure they were open. When we arrived they were closed due to a bank robbery a few doors down. Then we waited another 1/2 hour or so until they opened and found out that it could not be repaired and he would have to send away under his insurance and have it replaced. A phone call and more than 50 bucks later one was being priority mailed to us hopefully the next day. ($50 dollar deductible for a replacement of a $500 phone)?
We then ventured on to Manitou Springs. Which was a beautiful little craft person village. Silver, Indian crafts, rugs, clothes and much too much to list here. T-shirts that said things like "The only thing you have to fear is fear itself ... and bears" and "PETA ...pretty eatable tasty animals and one that showed four Indians with guns that said "handling terrorists since 1864". We played in the arcade. We tired our hand at skeeball. Horse racing, and blackjack games. Then had some ice cream (not my idea this time it was Marys) and we headed out. (Okay so I didn't object too much to the ice cream. After all it was really HOT) I had a SMALL mixed chocolate and vanilla cone.
We stopped at the local food market on the way home and I bought the essentials for me to make dinner tonight. (Shame Steve wasn't along it's his favorite) I made Cheeseburger soup. It's an old fashion PA Dutch dish. We had another of Marys great salads and called it an evening. Okay in case my girlfriend is checking in here we DID do a load of laundry.

. Outstanding views and amazing rock formations. You cannot rock climb unless you purchase a permit from the park. You have to be experienced to even be considered for a permit although there was a guy there learning to climb with his instructor. His whole family was there cheering him on. It was his second day. What a blast! Sodas at the Trading post and a little shopping there. They had stuffed bear, elk, deer, huge snakes and many other local critters. Great displays!Next we went to a Sprint store to try to get Joe's phone repaired or replaced. They directed us to their service center and called to make sure they were open.
