PRICELESS!
You can buy a lot of things with Mastercard and believe me, we used our Mastercard a lot during the past year, buy you can't buy memories like those we have of our neice Carla's wedding! On this day, Carla married the man of her dreams - Jeremy! Together, they already have a son Isaiah, one of the cutest and quietest babies you could meet!
As we were staying in Wedding Central, we had a first hand experience of Carla and her Bridesmaids preparation for the Big Day! Since I anticipated the bathroom would be the room in most demand, I went in early for a shower and was out before anyone in the bridal party opened an eyelid!
As it turned out, the bathroom was the room in most demand but it wasn't as chaotic as anticipated. When necessary, the girls just set up where they could to get themselves looking pretty. Not that these group of girls needed makeup to look pretty. They were all lookin pretty special!
As early morning blended with late morning which soon became noon, everyone in the home became formally dressed. At the same time, the Beijing Olympics moved from live coverage on tv to highlights of the day's athletic achievements
The church was full and the service was special. Everyone, from the Bride and Groom, Bridesmaids and Groomsmen were looking fine! The Roman Catholic priest presented a very special and memorable wedding mass for Carla and Jeremy. Spirituality plays such an important role in Carla and Jeremy's life, as it does in our entire Family, so today's wedding was very special!
The wedding reception, which was held in a large outdoor tent on the property of Jeremy's parents provided a great venue. The dinner meal was fantastic which offered guests barbequed BC salmon. What a treat! David, Carla's brother (and our nephew) did a fantastic job as emcee. His jokes and use of humour and sincerity provided everyone with special moments. However, the greatest moment was the video created by Luba (Carla's mom, Elsie's sister and my sis-in-law). The video presented everyone in attendance with a video journey of Carla and Jeremy. I'm sure a majority of family and friends could identify with moments in the video!
The following wedding dance that followed resembled the tv show "So You Think You Can Dance"! The dance party atmosphere wasn't a surprise since Carla and her bridesmaids all had University degrees in dance. In addition, there were all previously part of a Hip Hop Dance Group. So, all evening it was dance, dance, dance! We were so enthralled with the energy of the night that we didn't pay attention to the time. Before we knew it, it was 3am! The last time I could remember being awake at 3am was our flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver. Or was that 1pm?
All in all, we had tons of fun! The fifteen hour flight over the Pacific and the battle through jet lag was all worth it! "Good on Ya Carla, Jeremy and Isaiah"!
Cheers, Rick & Elsie!

. Carla, her Bridesmaids, Family and Friends were ready for last minute photo's and the drive to the church. Elsie and I were given the opportunity to drive Carla and her father to the church in our "pimp mobile". We were honoured! The church was full and the service was special.
