G'Day Mates!
So, it's come down to our final entry in Australia! Gee, 10.5 months go by quickly! I had several titles in mind for this final entry. Initially I thought of "Elvis has left the building"! Elsie thought that was stupid! Then I thought of "Beam me up Scotty"! Elsie thought that was stupid too! Then I thought of "Leavin' on a Jet Plane"! I didn't even ask Elsie what she thought of that one!
So, we reviewed our mission statement which was to enjoy great food and wine as well as fun, sun, sand and beaches and concluded that we definitely accomplished our mission here in Australia! In the process, we met a lot of great people and made numerous rewarding and lasting friendships!
On our last day, we made it back to Scarborough beach for one final sunset! Here, we got to reminisce over the past 10.5 months. We spent many days enjoying the beach at Scarborough this past summer and autumn! Rick took the opportunity to do his impression of Aussie tennis superstar Lleyton Hewitt's "Come On"! Rick has become too Australian!
Now we continue our journey by flying to Hong Kong only to connect with our flight to Bangkok where we hope to enjoy the sights and culture of Thailand! Stay Tuned!
Cheers, Rick & Elsie!

thanks!
I found your blog several months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed reading about your wonderful adventure. Thank you for sharing! My family and I lived in Aus for a year in 2002/2003 and I remember so well the heartbreak of leaving. Wishing you both a safe journey home.
