G'day everyone!

Time to leave the city for a quick getaway down south along the coastline to Margaret River. This renowned region, a 3 hour drive from Perth, is wine country, home to some of the best wines produced worldwide. A quick stop at Busselton, home to the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere, then down the Bussell highway to Cowaramup, totally cow country ( hence the name ) arriving a short time later in the township of Margaret River.

One couldn't help overlook the number of towns in the area ending with "up"! Towns such as Cowaramup, Yallingup, Dardanup, Boyanup, Balingup and Nannup! With so many ups, one must've thought that Shania Twain made a visit to the area before writing Up!Up!Up!

The lodging during our stay was a fabulous B & B - Vintner's Retreat. We were treated upon arrival to wine & cheese, alfresco style, complemeted by our hosts, Jeannie & Howie. With over 50 vineyards in the Margaret River region, every cellar door we visited had very knowledgable and courteous staff. Over the three days, we could only manage to visit a handful of wineries (ok, a couple handfuls of wineries), as well as the Margaret River Cheese Factory and the Margaret River Chocolate Co. It was a great trip! Now, we get to enjoy the fruits of our travels!

Cheers, Rick & Elsie!
