G'Day Mates!
Today, Elsie and I picked up our wheels! A fairly new 1999 Hyundai Excel Sport Hatchback! Wow! I never thought I'd own a right side steering vehicle!! But, it's sporty, has a little "pep" and will get us to the beach, wineries and Elsie's garage sales!! We cruised south along the west coast this afternoon and made quick visits to Rockingham (blah!!), Mandurah (vibrant & awesome!!) and Bunbury (boring!!). Bunbury did have an interesting office building, constructed in the shape of a sail! Needless to say, we intend on visiting Mandurah again in the near future! Apparently, this little city is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia!
It seems we've done a lot during our first two weeks here. We've gotten connected with our mobile phone, leased an apartment and purchased a car
It was a beautiful day here in WA! This morning, as we drove along the coast to pick up our car, we saw a complete rainbow over the Indian Ocean. It was spectacular to see! Somewhere out there in the water was a "pot of gold"!
It appears the Footy Grand Final has been decided. It'll be Geelong vs Pt. Adelaide! They had 98,000 people attend the Footy match last night at the MCG in Melbourne! The Aussies love their "Footy" as much as the American's love their Super Bowl! Somehow, I'll convince Elsie to watch the Footy Grand Final next weekend! Maybe they'll have funny beer commercials?
Elsie and I would like to extend Birthday wishes to all our friends and family having birthdays this month! Happy Birthday!! Cheers, Rick & Elsie!!

Greetings from Burnaby, BC
Hello Rick and Elsie. Love your travel blog! It's so entertaining, I can just picture you both cruising down the highway in your new wheels. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Ben is in San Jose right now, and on his way to Anaheim tomorrow. As for me, I am busy with the new job at Citizens Bank, which I'm really enjoying. Looking forward to your next posting. Rosetta
