Buon Giorno!  Ok!  For clarification, we didn't stop at Messina.  We merely went through the Messina Strait, where our Italian built 100,000 ton boat "Ruby Princess" continued south and navigated around the toe of Italy.  Today was a day at Sea!  A day to relax on our balcony and enjoy that local vino we purchased in Naples.

We did begin the day at the fitness center.  Being a fitness instructor and avid cyclist himself, Rick deciding to take a spin (cycle) class at 9am while Elsie deciding to walk the treadmill to speeds and inclines that it hadn't seen before (not really)!  But, with an ipod full of Rick's rock'n music and a million dollar view out of the bow of the ship, walking the treadmill was definitely not boring!

Nathan, a South African instructor, led Rick's spin class.  Although Rick thought it was a far distance from Jacinda's Saturday morning cycle class at the Floreat gym in Perth, he had a great cardio workout.  You see, if Rick leaves a pool of sweat underneath his bike, then it should be perceived as a compliment to the instructor.

Since we had no port to disembark, we decided to eat lunch in the dining room.  Up till now, it's been the buffet at the Horizon Cafe.  It's a nice change from the hustle and bustle buffet in Horizon Cafe.  Although we're not big buffet patrons, it seemed that most people in the buffet line believed their last meal would be this particular lunch.  Thus, nothing would stand in their way, not even manners!  So, it was best to stay at least two meters away from those people.

After a nice quiet lunch we caught the last half of the movie Yes Man, playing on deck 15 around the Calypso Pool.  The movie starring Jim Carey appeared to be quite funny, something we'd likely rent upon our return home.

The afternoon had us resting on our balcony, enjoying a bottle of vino, watching the Mediterranean pass by us at 20 knots per hour.

We made reservations at Michelangelo's Dining Room where, Rick dressed in a tux and Elsie dressed in a beautiful dress, enjoyed a beautiful dinner with a window view, thanks to Elsie who had the forsight to book reservations

Our post dinner ritual had us stop by the International Cafe for a piece of cheese cake, on the way to the Princess Theatre.  Nothing like those double desserts!  That's why we get friendly with those cardio machines in the fitness center!

The evening production of Stardust, in the Princess Theatre, was a fantastic show, with great choreography, costumes and stage production.  Well worth watching!

The 50's Rock'n Roll Dance Party continued after the Stardust production.  It was an opportunity to practice some jive and work off some of those calories we gathered throughout the day.

Tomorrow, it's the Greek Island of Mykonos!  Ciao! Rick & Elsie!
