. We hopped in our hire car and proceeded to drive to Great Yarmounth. What a little metropolis this is. It is what they call here a seaside town with lots of entertainment for children. Lots of grotesque amusement centres and all the bling that goes with it. I've never seen this before, although Rick has often told me about them. A sight to behold. Pretty tacky realy but a lot of people get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I think it is a little like Blackpool or Southend. Glad we are here all the same and experience it all. Sitting in Macdonalds at the moment with 20 million other parents and kids. Rick is being very good and just keeps reading the paper.
Our B&B is not toooooo bad. Nothing special but it is clean . The decor leaves a lot to be desired but the service makes up for it. All our nedes are being catered for, also the owner is so very nice and helpful. She checks up on you and make sure that there is nothing we need. We get a full English breakfast in the mornings as well, which is very big and no need to eat anymore for hours. Also muesli bars and yoghurt available for midday snacks. Today we just walked along the beach front and this afternoon watched a little paralympics. A good rest day for us. Tomorrow we are driving to the Norfolk Broads and will probably take in a little boat trip and hopefully enjoy a ride on a steam train. See how we go.
We are here for a few more nights so plenty of time to explore the area.
All good so far, nice little hire car as well to zip around in and it gets us from A to B.
Meet you on the Broads tomorrow.
Rick has had 2 women in his life on our trips, one has taken him where-ever he wanted to go without ever complaining once, the other has catered to any other needs that were necessary. Well sadly one of them left him yesterday. Yes Charlie has been sold and delivered to her new owners. Delivered her yesterday and the money is in the bank. Felt a little emotional about it all as she has been a big part of our lives during our adventures. Yes Charlie was almost human for us, everyone always talked about her with great affection. Many a time when we returned from our little day trips , we greeted her with glee. She was everything you could possibly want in a campervan and provided us with daily comfort. Still she has gone to a good home, bought by a couple that just want to do what we have done and enjoy themselves. She did buck a bit when we left her behind but we feel sure that the crying stopped as soon as we drove around the corner. She has Basil Garmin to comfort her, although he was a little teary at being left behind as well
