. Only about 500 meters away and there it was. What a surprise, it was such a nice little place with lots of character and a surprise around every corner. the smallest town centre you can imagine but plenty of life just the same. We noticed a wall along the way and climbed the steps up to the top. A lovely view from there. We came across a fast flowing river as well which made the scenery around it look very pretty. It was a delight to walk through the village and were both very glad that we stopped there. Just shows you that around every corner something special awaits you.
Yes at lunch time today we arrived in Tours. A good trip, never got way laid once, well perhaps once but that was to stop at the supermarket to get some stuff. A pretty good one as well seeing it was in a small town. Just love driving through those places and stop and have a walk around.
So here we are in Tours, tomorrow we will catch the number 31 bus which will take us to the city centre. from there we will find our way around and see what it brings us.
The weather has been a little different than last week. Still sunny but so very cool in the mornings. I think we will have to get used to that from now on.
Looking forward to tomorrow very much.
Back on the road again today, our stop at Soustons was only a short one. Not too much there anyway but our stay was very pleasant all the same. Todays destination was going to be in the vicinity of Angouleme. we picked out a caravan park last night and put the co-ordinates in Basil. Just follwed his instructions until we came close to our destination. Basil took us on a scenic drive through vineyards. the roads kept getting narrower and it seemed less likely that we were on the right track. Stopped and re-entered our details but Basil did not come up with the caravan park's name, so we put in the next best thing. Doesn't really matter anyway as it is only for one night on our way to Tours.Just as we were going through all these little roadways we saw a little caravan park on our left, looked so cute and tidy and almost begged us to come in. A quick left turn and we were there, parked Charlie and felt a little chuffed with ourselves. It is just the nicest little park with all facilities neat and clean. Good enough for us we said. After having some lunch we went exploring and see if there was a village nearby
