. Carol loves gardening so she was in her element. We planned to have afternoon tea there ( yes it has a restaurant as well) but unfortunately they closed before we got there.Still it was a pleasant and very colourful experience.
After dinner we had a little get together with some of Carol and Graham's friends to celebrate the big birthday. Graham had arranged this as a surprise for Carol. Rick and I have met some of their friends before and it was good to see them again. David and Claire also visited, lots of chatter ( gosh they can talk ) and laughter. A lovely few hours and a good time was had by all. For us it was late to bed and early to rise in the morning. Visiting London tomorrow, rain and all.
Super day today despite the weather.
Today was Carol's birthday. We had planned to do all sorts of things and go to various places but it just did not work out the way we wanted it too. We learned that the venue we planned to visit was closed on Tuesdays so plan A had to be cancelled. Plan B,C,and D did not appeal because the weather was rather bad. Rain, wind and very cold. Decided to stay indoors instead for the morning and go and visit a garden centre in the afternoon. Good plan. Rick did a few odd jobs around the house, I spend a couple of hours putting our stuff in Charlie, ready for us to go on Thursday. After a late lunch we hopped in the car and drove the scenic way to the Garden Centre. Lovely fields and houses for us to look at, a very pleasant drive. The garden centre itself is very big with everything there you could possibly want, from plants to ornaments , home decorations to birtday cards. It's a huge area and a lot of it is under cover so a visit need not be cold or wet. If you cannot find it there you cannot find it anywhere
