Where I stayed
At my cousin's place
. Very interesting to see.
We went for a lovely drive in the car with them in the afternoon. Visited Hoorn a lovely city near where they live and had a good walk around. Also met Wim and Elly's daughter in the town square and had a few drinks together. It was all so good. Went back to Westwoud again to feed the dogs and freshen up, back to Hoorn where we had a lovely Chinese meal and visited the square again to watch the end of the cheese market. Hoorn is a lovely place and as Rick said " he could live there as it felt so comfortable and easy." That is another thing Rick does not speak dutch and I was not so good at it but they made it very easy for us and always considered the fact that Rick was there trying to make sense of everything.
A realy good day once again
Yes we are back, no internet available to us the last few days so we are making up for it now. Left Belgium in a cloud of misty air and very cold. We were not sad to leave Belgium and will probably not return unless we feel like chocolate. Because it was so wet and cold we decided to put my cousin's address in Basil Garmin and hope we would find someone at home, which we did. Knocked on the door and my cousin's lace and his lovely wife Elly opened the door. We could not have been made to feel more welcome as we did that night. It all felt very homely straight away. Wim my cousin came home a few hours later and it was just like time had stood still for me, so many emotions and it was so good to see him again. the bit that I found interesting is that I still felt very protective of him as I did in the early years. Wim was my mate and being older it was my job to look after him the best I could, I still felt that when I saw him after 51 years. We looked at their business premises , wim is a award winning chef and has a very large and popular catering business at the moment
