Plans for the day was to visit the fishing villages of Polperro and Mevagissey, so hopped in the car laden with more coats than you can imagine and off we went. Put our destination in Graham's tom tom and just followed the directions. Carol decided we were going the wrong way but she was out voted by the rest of us and the tom tom, so we carried on. A lot of laughs about it all, the tom tom just took us the long way around.
Polperro itself is a beautiful fishing village. The tide was out and all these boats were sitting in the mud . While the tide was out a lot of work was being done on the mud, such as clearing away the rubbish and anything else that needed taking out
Next village Mevagissy, another similar fishing village. All these villages are great tourist spots and of course have all the little shops that go with it. Lots of people there despite the weather although by now it had cleared up a bit and some blue sky actually appeared. Walked past a Cornish Pasties shop, stopped and kidded ourselves that we were getting hungry because it is so hard to resist them. Lots of varieties but went for the authentic ones. They are simply to die for and should never be missed, also they were hot and just a little bit peppery. It was just such a delight to see them all in the shop and the smell was gorgeous. Sat in the sun and ate them while looking over the village and water.
Drove home through the back roads and came across some very nice scenery. Also discovered a castle which we have adopted as our country estate. Home again at the B&B by 5.30pm, scones, fruit and cream for dinner and have just finished doing the crossword with Graham being the intelect and getting the answers to the clues. The fact that he looked them up on his laptop had nothing to do with it. On ya Graham we will get you back.
Once again a fantastic day and more to come tomorrow
