Visited the ancient capital of Sukkothai for a few days to see some more ruin. Despite the humidity I decided to walk around the Historical Park (after getting a local bus to the site from the New City)

Its an amazing place, some of the temple and buildings being surrounded by lakes (unfortunately I did not get here at sunset but I would imagine the site to be quite spectacular at this hour!)

Definitely worth the trip! AS for its similarity to Ayutthaya... The temples were sooo different that it was definitely worth seeing both, plus it helped break up the trip north to Chiang Mai.
