Packed and checked out by 10.30am, although we had to wait until 9pm before we could catch the courtesy bus to the airport so we had a whole day to waste when all we wanted to do was leave for LA. After sunbathing, swimming in the lagoon and lots of time on the net we were finally off to the airport, where I managed to see a rugby match as we were greated with an hour delay on top of the waiting we had already done. We finally boarded the plane and flew the hour and a half to Papeete, where we had to leave the plane, go through customs and sit in the waiting room again before we took off. By this time it was about 2.30am and we were both really, really tired.
We eventually boarded and taxied to the start of the runway only to be told by the Captain that there was a technical problem which meant we would have to return to the terminal for the engineers to fix the problem. Fortunately, I managed to dose off for the exta hours delay and by 4am we had taken off.
