night on the boat in the harbour for free or staying in town, but as all the hotels and guesthouses were so ridiculously expensive for such a shitty port town everybody chose to sleep on the boat again. That evening i investigating the diving options in the town and decided to go with Paradise Divers on a 3 dive excursion the following day. There are loads of dive operators in Labanbajo and they all charge very similar prices. My three dives cost 1,000,050INR (about £60) plus the Marine Park entrance fee which was another 95,000INR. We left at 8:30am and sailed an hour and a half to our 1st
dive site *Castle Rock* where we saw lots of living coral; loads of fish; five sharks; a turtle; a moray eel and a blue spotted ray. It would have been an amazing dive if it wasn't for the poor visibility – you could only see about 10meters in any direction. We then did *Batu Balong* which was also very good with much better visibility but only two sharks! After a really nice lunch on the boat of fish; chicken; rice; noodles; tempe; tofu and veg we went to our last dive sight *Manta Point* where we saw one large manta ray, one small manta ray and then a huge one about 3.5meters across circling around us feeding on the plankton. Took an hour plus to get back to Labuhanbajo so didn't get back until gone 6pm. All in all the diving in Komodo was very good however it didn’t blow me away. I thus decided to stick with just the three dives and wait until Sulawesi to do some more.
