Arrived in time for a spot of lunch and anxiety about what we had let ourselves in for....
... here's what , we would be transported by minibus to a remote location, don blue overalls and white wellyboots (gumboots) and helmets (red) then proceed on foot to the mouth of a cave
(actually a collapsed sink hole) where we would abseil 100m into the cave and see the native "rainforest" in the bottom
, then hike out, all so simple.
Well the abseil was amazing, nothing more exhilerating than knowing that all thats preventing you from a 100m plummet to sharp limestone formations is a 1cm thick piece of nylon.
The hike out was pretty cool, we stopped in a cave and admired glowworms, whilst trying not to think about the 60m ladder we had to climb.
(Words don't really do this justice, and the photos were all taken by the guide, so I have to get them off a CD sometime. - DELETED) Photos now added - Hurrah
Travelled up from Taupo to Waitomo having booked ourselves on "The Lost World Tour".
