Drove out of Oamaru into the town centre where we bought a new bag for Fi and I (Rich) also paid my speeding fine at the local Westpac bank. Only cash accepted (?). The staff were very sympathetic which made me feel better. Drove on through Timaru and Ashburton, both quite large towns relative to most we have been through lately. Went through a village called St Andrews - yes it had a golf course!
Landed in Methven which is a small ski village, servicing Mt Hutt ski resort. Out of season at the moment, so most is shut. The rest are only open Tuesday to Saturday. Today is Monday. Nice. Pizza takeaway anyone? The two local pubs (imaginatively called "The Brown Pub" and opposite across the road is "The Blue Pub") are both having their Christmas parties tonight, together. Wierd, all the Xmas decorations up in this weather.
