Said a fond farewell to G+T as we parted. They are to stay on in Te Anau to do the Kepler Track starting tomorrow. We are to drive out through the scenic Catlins. Start Kms 136Km.
Went through Gore and stopped off for lunch - not much to see. Continued along the Southern Scenic Route and stopped off in Curio Bay and Porpoise Bay. Saw a sealion and some cormorants. Really beautiful bays. Drove through Papatowai and called in to see the Gypsy Man. He has a caravan by the side of the road, filled with things he has made from junk. Don't know how he makes a living though. Found a campsite at Pounawea. Lovely site right next to beach but they were still building some of the buildings there!
Had a lovely walk on the beach where we got quite close to a group of sealions fighting (playing we think). Tomorrow is Dunedin and Oamaru.
