Went out walking with G & T (not the drink!) up to the glacier face in Rob Roy Valley.  Drive there interesting (not in the camper van) but it was all unsealed roads and 5 fords which were getting deeper as we came home.  The walk was 6km of amazing scenery but lots of up!  Through rainforests following a beautiful glacial river with bird song all the way. Rich pulled a bird at the lunchstop - a very greedy kea!  It was after his sarnies. Could not have  found a more lovely place for lunch - overlooking the glacier itself and the very, very white snow.  Saw a small avalanche as it was melting rather rapidly.
Got back to campsite very tired and made the boys eat salad for tea - they were not amused (but enjoyed it really!).  Rich and Gord booked a climb in the morning with Wanaka Rock.
