Went for heli flight at 10:15. Only 4 in copter (including us). Other 2 were from Gloucester. Really nice couple. Fi was shoved in the front (she wasn't happy cos the floor had clear panels in. You can see through your feet!) Awesome trip round mt Cook , Tasman and over the Glaciers. Had a snow landing on a snow shelf. We landed then after the copter was winding down it shifted on the snow. Talk about a dodgy moment! Got a piccie for Craghoppers when we landed. Come on 25% discount!!
Saw some mountaineers coming down from Mt Tasman, they were heading towards what looked like a cliff edge! RM then pushed into front by Fi, we did a nasty spiral descent down through the clouds as the weather was coming in. Didn't feel well, especially when the pilot's door came open!
Drove towards Wanaka, roadside sandwiches and tea just after Bruce Bay. Did a nice walk on the way, Monro Beach to see penguins. Saw a single penguin and a seal (how many penguins were there originally?). Then down to Haast Beach for an overnight. Campsite OK, we met lots of nasty sandflies. We were their lunch!
