Every Sunday in the San Telmo neighborhood, there is a HUGE fair with vendors all up and down Defensa street.
In addition to tourist goodies, you'll find antiques, and street performers.
There are some great restaurants, but the one you HAVE to go to is La Brigada on Calle Estado Unidos.
Calle Defensa
Because it gets ridiculously crowded an easy way of getting there is to take a subway (Subte) to the Plaza de Mayo area and just walk down Defensa from there. As you are looking at the Casa Rosada, Defensa will be on your right. The good part about this too, is that aside from not getting stuck in the traffic you can see some tables of people that aren't officially part of the fair.In addition to tourist goodies, you'll find antiques, and street performers.
Musicians at the San Telmo Fair
It really is a fun event and though we were there last year we made a point of going both Sundays that we were in Bs. As. (you never know what you'll find!). There are some great restaurants, but the one you HAVE to go to is La Brigada on Calle Estado Unidos.
La Brigada Restaurant
WARNING: Go there and make a reservation before you get hungry because the wait is usually at least an hour. The food here is incredible and the energy frenetic...this is one of those places that will become part of your trip because the experience is that memorable. Inside La Brigada
