After some more thunder and lightening through the night we woke to a wet, cloudy day in Chamonix. Spirits somewhat dampened we spent the morning catching up on our blog and sorting out accommodation for the MotoGP. The rain died down a little so we jumped on Rhys' bike and headed into town for a look. Had a wander through the streets and was about to go into Alpine experience until they informed us they were closing for lunch, thus we decided to get lunch and hide from the rain, we walked back to the bikes to put my wet weather pants away, Rhys put them in his top box then looked very sheepish for some reason.....he finally confessed that he had left his keys in the top box lock out in the open for all to take....Chamonix is a very safe place. Had many cups of tea, burgers and a crepe for finishing off. During our extended lunch Rhys decided he was going to train up for an half iron man when he gets home as he was inspired by the many fit looking people wandering around, I will be his coach/nutritionist/supporter/and dedicated wife. There is the Mont Blanc Ultra marathon in town resulting in the large number of extremely fit people. We then spent the afternoon in the Alpine experience exhibition, which had a great collection of mountaineering history and hands on displays. We walked the streets a bit more as the rain had eased, bought some things for dinner and wandered through the stalls set up for the competition that finishes in 3days. Had a dry ride back to camp then we spent the afternoon drying our many wet clothes and booking accommodation/flights to Lapland to book our spot in seeing Santa this year! Late dinner then went to sleep to the sound of rain, once again.
