Hello,

Goodness I must have been busy lately I have got so far behind. Keeping this blog up to date is hard work.

In KL we stayed in the Chinatown area, infact our hotel backed onto Petling street which is where the non stop market is. Any designer 'copy' you want can be found here, but unfortunately there isn't so much that could be described as Malaysian.

Chinatown made a good base for exploring the city from, and we headed off to visit the world famous Petronas towers once the tallest twin towers in the world until recently pipped. It is possible to go up to the sky bridge between the towers, but make sure you get up early as the tickets are free and so go very quickly, and by the time we got there they were all gone At the top

. However you can actually get a view from higher if you go up the KL tower, and as you have to pay for the ticket they don't go quite so quickly! For fact lovers, this is the 4th tallest telecommunications tower in the world, you are all going to very well at trivial pursuit after this trip.

We also took a visit out to the Batu caves, a Hindu temple about half an hour from KL by bus. The temple was quite spectacular, but the 272 steps to the top were made all the more entertaining by the cheeky monkeys that lived round there who were always up to something and were surprisingly tame so you get quite close for a photo provided you kept a good grip on your camera!

Now off to the Cameron Highlands, a welcome break from the humidity of KL.

Bye for now.
