Hello,
Thought I would add a quick paragraph about what we got up to at surfers, which wasn't too much other than enjoying the beach...except for our second brush with fame...this time in the Gold Coast Bulletin! We were asked what we thought of the recent horse flu outbreak over here, and so ended up with our gormless comments and photos in the paper the following day! Tom of course hasn't let fame change him, although he has taken to going to bed with his sunglasses on, after all you never know where the paparazzi are lurking!
We had a good time in Brisbane, it centre is fairly compact so it is easy to walk around and has a great mix of historic buildings in with some huge skyscrapers. A visit to the Queensland Museum was very interesting with really good displays on the endangered animals in Queensland and Aboriginal life
For my Scottish readers, on our way out of Brisbane we passed through Kelvin Grove, small world. Readers from up north will be interested to hear that there is a Cullen Bay in Darwin, I think the weather may be slightly different though. To finish off this Scottish paragraph, I also enjoyed my first Irn Bru in 6 months, made in Australia though it did taste slightly different...perhaps the girders over here are not quite the same?
Bye for now.

Brisbane 1
. On our final night we met up with Willa and Paul, who Tom knew from his stint in York. They took us for a huge steak dinner, mmmm and up to Mount Coot-tha reserve for a great view over Brisbane at night.
