Hello,
After a very comfortable bus ride...we went first class for 3GBP more and the seats went all the way back! After arriving we went to check out a hostal that sounded good, and although this probably does not sound good fortune, it was full. However round the corner was also a nice place which was much cheaper...just over 10GBP a night for a room in central Buenos Aires. It has a touch of the faulty towers about it, with a slightly Bazil like man in charge ...nicer though! A deaf receptionist, Qual? And a very helpful cleaning lady, but somehow this adds to the charm!?
The day we arrived it was a lovely sunny day, the temp in the mid twenties. However since then BA seems to have been hit by a cold snap and yesterday it even snowed..it is winter in Argentina after all
We had planned to stay here for 4 days then head onto Mendoza and over the mountains to Santiago, however a pass that can easily close for snow for two days and an international flight dont really mix, so we extended the stay here and got some cheap flights direct to Santiago.
In the meantime we have had a good time here, doing a bit of shopping....if you love shoes and bags this is the place for you, catching a tango dinner show... Our taxi driver recommended a place called La bolsa which turned out just to be up the road from the hotel and was very good. Staying a little longer has also meant we were here to see the weekend market in San Telermo, which is great for antiques and seeing some tango in the street. Last night we went up to Chinatown for a delicious dinner, although figuring out the spanish menu was fun as always...we know plenty of food words now, but spanish words for chinese dishes is always tricky and not normally in the phrase book.
Next stop Santiago....and our final few days in South America...4 months has flown!
Bye for now.

. As we walked down the street when were a bit amused by the number of people taking pictures of the snow and generally being very excited about it, when we got back to the hostal we found out it hasnt snowed in BA for 90 years ...or 70 if you listen to our taxi driver.
