I think the title is self-explanatory but I have been eaten alive by the mosquitos here, even with using the insect repellent spray and wipes I have stilled been destroyed by them the gits!!!!!!!

Over the last few days due to the constant showers there hasn’t been a lot to do apart from bum around the hostel and walk 2 minutes up to the Mango Tree which is a restaurant and bar. Sunday night a few of us went out for a couple of drinks, 4 Aussies, 1 Russian, and I. The majority of the night was spent teaching the Russian slang terms she can use in Australia, my personal favourite been poo tickets which is bog roll. When I get home I will be going into Tesco asking what type of poo tickets they would recommend.

In the Mango Tree I was paying 80rs for a large bottle of Kingfisher (1) and 120rs for a large bowl of delicious chicken noodles (1.50)

I have also decided to leave Goa a few days early mainly due to the fact I am already fed up of been stuck in doors for the majority of the day, I will be heading up to Mumbai on Tuesday night on a 14 hour sleeper bus, another guy from the hostel Is also on this bus so I thought it would be ideal for my first experience of an Indian night bus. The bus cost me 800rs (10) which is incredible when It would cost me around 4 for a return from Churchdown to Gloucester although with the standard of driving and poor road conditions especially in the wet season I may change my mind somewhere along the way.

A few things I would like to do in Mumbai is visit the Dharavi slums, The Gateway to India, Dhobi Ghat which is a massive open air laundry where thousands of locals wash clothes by hand every day,  I have found a good tour company in the city which do day tours of a few of these sights so will hopefully book one of these upon arrival.

The hostel has been really good and were happy for me to check out a few days early and have given me a full refund for the days I will not be staying, they also provided a laundry service which cost 100rs or a unlimited amount of clothes each wash, staff also helpful and friendly.

I know we are coming up to the monsoon season and I was really hoping to at least get a few days of sunshine before I left but that doesn’t look likely as I currently type this there is a torrential downpour along with the power going on and off every couple of minutes. I am not the only one who has done this there are a few others in the hostel who were up north but decided to head south in the hope of having a few days of sunshine.

I may have underestimated the weather this time of the year but I will head north and see what it is like there, from Mumbai my plans are to head to the Taj Mahal and then onto Varanasi visiting a few places in between. My original plan after India was to head to Nepal but I am tempted to fly to Thailand mainly due to the weather for the next 2 months in Nepal and hopefully take in Nepal another time or on my way back once I have been to Australia and New Zealand.

I am not sure what the internet will be like in Mumbai so this will probably be my last post for a few days.

P.S Rhys I hope you appreciate the title
