Wow! I am really getting excited!  I picked up my VISA on Friday. The only paperwork I still need is my 'Temporary Residency' and I get that when I am in Tanzania.

I am still busily making skirts to take with me. I may even try my hand at making a blouse!

I got all of my meds and mosquito repellants from the travel doctor. He is really great! If anyone needs a travel doc, I highly recommend him!

Last night I made a list of all of the things I still need to buy for the trip. My travel doc recommended www.travmed.com for some items. He said it would be a good idea to take along a Blister Kit, as they can be a real problem in a foreign country with new shoes and terrain. So I got one of those. CCS said we needed special socks that wick away the moisture and keep your feet warm and dry. It will be the rainy season when I am there. Unfortunately, the socks are $12 a pair, so I just got two pairs and I will have to wash them often. I bought a money belt to keep my passport, visa and small amounts of money while I am there. I need to buy 2 microfiber towels, as CCS only supplies you with one, which is washed weekly. Today I am going to Walmart to get the rest of the things that I need. All personal products (shampoo, lotion, etc) need to be unscented to help protect against the bugs. I am also going to look for that packing system that vacuums the air out of the plastic bags. We need to be able to carry all of our own luggage, so I will be taking one carry on + my laptop, and one large roller duffle bag. I am hoping that this vacuum system will help me to pack more efficiently. Oh, the Doc also said to take a First Aid kit. They were all really expensive at the travmed store, so I am going to buy the ingredients to make my own.

Still having trouble learning Swahili. I wish I had someone to practice with!

Well I better get back to sewing now.

Oh, I am going to try uploading a picture to make sure I know how to do it. So here is my VISA pic!
