Where I stayed
I'm blogging! I'm alive! I really am in Belize, they didn't send me to some Muslim country with strict Sharia laws to smuggle Bibles in (don't worry mom). Well today was pretty nifty. Chelsea, Tyler, Dennis and I went to two schools to tell them about the day camp and give them their ID Cards. It was so much fun! The little kids were adorable! All the little ones wanted to give us hugs and two of the girls kissed my cheek =] But they were so hard to understand, I felt stupid. They say the letter "a" like "e". So when they spelled their names I was like, "Um.... Is this right?" and they had to tell me no about 10 times until I got it correct. But it was amazing how many of them didn't even know their birthdays. It's so sad. In a sense it's good because it shows that they aren't as self-centered as us Americans, but at the same time, it's like they're missing out. We are SO lucky. Most of these people live in houses as either Jim or Dennis said, we "wouldn't even use as a utility storage room".
I did the devotional tonight and it was pretty intense. I cried, as always, along with Dennis and Amy (see above haha). Then everyone prayed for me and I cried some more. My pants have snot stains on them (I figured you all wanted to know the details since I haven't blogged yet). But yeah! Tonight was pretty moving. I love everyone here, they're so sweet. Jenny couldn't be more precious and Mardenie is just a bundle of fun.
Well it's shower time but I promise I will blog again after I smuggle in those Bibles. Haha =]
Hello people, lol its chelsea and everyone is getting ready for bed and I'm still kinda hyper : / opss.. lol but I'll get to bed trust me! I am having a lot of fun here, but it will be wonderful to get home with the AC my mom/ family. I miss everyone so much and my puppy's and peej oh and my phone lolol, I have some good pics also. It is very swampy down here from the storms. I really appreciate what I have at home a lot more because I have seen how things are here and how hard life is. But when I get older I would like to become an missionary because I really enjoyed helping the kids today. Cause at the schools we gave the kids ID's something we get every year in America and we don't look at it as anything special some people lose them and don't ever notice but these kids loved them because it was something they could call their own it made me notice how selfish Americans are I have realized I am also and its really sad. But while we have been here I have seen growth in the teenagers here from the church I have also noticed growth in me as well, but it has been pretty neat to see it happen to other people while we have been here! Its hot down here but I'm starting to get use to it. Oh guess what, Dennis let everyone off work for my birthday cool huh, so we are going to go snorkeling thats going to be a fun way to celebrate a birthday it would be awesome if my family was here, but I have my church family so its still cool! But Casey said he would like to grow up nd be a youth minster or preacher thats awesome. Sorry if things aren't spelled right I am so tired, but Casey didn't want to blog tonight he is tired and has to get up really early in the morning so he can go to a school but he says hi and he loves you to everyone. But I think this is long enough to prove I'm still alive lol but I'm going to go now and get in the cold shower I feel so dirty and sweaty ewww..... lol bye!! <3 Lots of love bye!! :)
Well, Dennis here again. God has been really moving in the lives of our youth. As you read, Chelsea feels like God is calling her into missions and Casey shared that he wants to either be a pastor or a youth pastor. (Pastor Jon and I better look out.) Again, thanks for all your prayers and be blessed.
Take care, God bless, and keep your lights shining.
