Where I stayed

That was a pleasant 3 days in Adelaide.  We stayed on a very regimented site - one car per site, no driving above walking pace, no smoking, no animals etc. In fact every available space was occupied by a rule or regulation.   But having said that, it was immaculate and well organised.

On Tuesday we went to visit Clemance, as arranged, and he still didn't remember me.  I thought at least he might have made an effort, but no, nothing!  But neither did he remember Davy and not only was Davy the most memorable person I know, he and Clemence had been high mountain walking together in Switzerland several times.  So that made me feel better.  It was good to see him again anyway and that old spark was still there in him.  He had been a great adverturer in his day and had many great tales to tell.

On Wednesday we picked Hils up from the airport and our little band of 2 because a little band of 3. I n the afternoon we went on a Coopers brewery tour.  The tour was a bit boring, but the beer was wonderful. Unfortunately the weather changed last night we had a tremendous downpour accompanied with a high wind.  Vinnie's poor little 3 man tent wasn't up to it and they had a dreadful night.

But today the weather picked up and we went on another rece of Adelaide taking Hils to some of the places we had explored on Tuesday.  The Central Market is a foodies paradise, full of beautiful fresh produce and China Town is lunchtime paradise.  We had Chinese dumplings and green tea for $3.  Amazing.

We all like Adelaide although Vinnie was fed up with all the traffic lights.  They take so long to change. But apart from that it's an easy city to get around.  Apparentley the man that designed the city decreed that the streets should be wide enough to allow a tractor pulling a cart filled with 18 bullocks room to do a "u'y".  How quaint.

Tonight we have moved on to McLaren Vale, another wine producing area of Australia.  So I guess tomorrow we will have to go wine tasting all over again.
