Jose Toledo, the General Manager of the Defense Media Activity in Norfolk, evidently saw my posting on the Association's website.  He put me in touch with MCC Jerry Sekerak, the Officer in Charge of the Radio and TV Station in Rota.  After an exchange of emails, we are all set.  Chief Sekerak will meet us at the main gate at 0900 on February 12th. 

After arranging for us to get on the base, he will accompany us to the Exchange so we can buy Rota Base items, like tee shirts and caps.  I would also like to buy a bunch of the models of the wave breakers to sell through the Ship's Store at the Valley Forge reunion.

The very last thing that needed to get done, got done.

Also, as a Xmas present to myself I bought a new small and light weight portable computer to take on the trip.  It is a MSI Wind Notebook.  Besides having a computer to view DVD movies on my many airline flights and have web access where there is wifi availability, I wanted to have a way to upload photos from my camera to this travel blog day by day. 

So be sure to start checking this blog starting February 8th.  I will make every effort to keep it up to date with our adventures and include lots of photos.
