We made the long trek back to civilisation today - if that's what you can call Adelaide. By mistake we took the long road, and it was quite hilly. But we did get to see the Big Rocking Horse, to add to our other list of 'Bigs' so far. We arrived in Adelaide and dropped the caravan out in the suburbs to assist with parking in the city and headed through the traffic (we haven't seen much of it in a while) to the city. We ran around all day getting some things that were needed and then got back to our safe caravan after the shops had shut. A flood of relief came as we headed out of the city and the traffic towards freedom. That was until road works caused us to miss the turnoff to the Clare Valley and we ended up on a wrong road, in the middle of nowhere, in pitch black. We had to cut across about 50km on a tiny road to get back on track. We didn't see a single car the whole time and it was a bit freaky. But we eventually got back on the right road and killed about 20 mice on the way to our stop at Auburn (which by the way was an oval/netball court that someone had decided to call a "Caravan Park" and charge us $15 to say at. But at 9.00 at night, we weren't going to argue, or keep driving).
