long boat trip after the border and then almost 2 hours on a bus on a bumpy road...
we finally got in town around 7 pm... phnom penh is a big city, but it's easy to walk around town and get so see a lot of interesting things, mainly if you start wandering in the temples and monastery areas...and eventually you'll meet a monk willing to practice a bit his english so you can have a nice insight view of their town and habits... this town has been depopulated during the khmer rouge regime and was where the political party had their headquarters...which are now transformed in the tuold sleng museum. it was a school for the kids and was transformed in a torture site..where ppl whe were tought in contact with the external world were tortured till their confession but anyways to death...
it's quite hard wandering around the classrooms where the prisoners were kept for days and days...being tortured in the nastiest ways imaginable...very very touching.. to be continued... More thumbnails ...
