I bought a new camera for this trip. Thought it was time to upgrade from my Nikon Coolpix point and shoot so we bought a Nikon Coolpix with a big ole zoom but its still basically a point and shoot, just doesn't fit in my purse now. Anyhow, it comes with one of the straps so you can carry it around your neck and really scream "tourist"!! Well I did just that ...strapped on the camera and off we went. I'm still getting to know the camera, there's an extra step you have to do to take pictures, called the lens cap, anyhow, I missed my first big pic of the day as we flew by in the trolley because of said lens cap........There was a very large group of Asians standing around a tree taking a picture of ..wait for it, wait for it.... a squirrel!! We always laugh about the Asians in Vegas not missing a photo op, they know how to capture the moment in pictures!!....so I missed taking a pic of them taking a pic!! You would have thought they were the paparazzi shooting a celebrity
Niagara Falls was pretty cool. It wasn't originally on my list of places to go to but we were right there so we felt the need to say we did it. We did it and got some photos to prove! Actually Honey was there in his previous life at some point but he can't remember anything about it or who he was with lol. He's thinking a work function field trip possibly. Hopefully he'll remember it with me this time!! The best part for me was the gorgeous weather, colors have not started to change there yet but can imagine it will be beautiful when it does, lots of walking, which I actually enjoyed (cue the belly laughs from my friends), I would guess we got our 10,000 steps for the day in for sure. Well, anyhow, we managed to spend a good afternoon there so it was a good day!!
Next day got we on the road headed further East. Didn't plan to drive too far, maybe 5 hours (that's always the plan but life happens most times), spent the night in a Walmart parking lot outside of Albany, NY. Settled in for the night for Honey to watch the BSU/Fresno game.... at 9:00 pm....games sure start late here in Eastern time. I spent the evening pouring over maps and websites trying to map out our tour of the New England States. There is sooo much to see and do and we don't want to miss a thing!!!
Tomorrow we will wake up and decide where to go from here! So excited!
