Luckily a porter helped us to load up our 7 checked and 6 hand luggage bags... One maxi cab later and we were on route to our rental apartment in Brooklyn.
Matt won an iron man award after lugging the luggage up 4 flights of stairs - some bags over 30kgs each! After a much desired shower we headed out looking for some dinner. There was no-one about and everything was shut so we feared going to bed hungry... Luckily we found a Greek restaurant serving roast turkey and pumpkin pie to help celebrate Thanksgiving:-)
The next morning we headed across to the Island in search of a warm coat for me
The Black Friday sales were pretty crazy and after getting a few essentials and replacing Matt's runners that Lulu, the naughty dog, had destroyed we escaped the crowds and headed home.
Later we headed out for some yummy sushi. We've been lucky - it's been lovely weather but it's been hard to judge the time as it gets dark so early!
Today (Saturday) we explored Brooklyn on foot - looking around some neighbourhoods to get a feel for the areas. Much colder today and even had a few random snowflakes! Loving the Brooklyn accents and the crazy/ funny/ strange people we are encountering! Looked at two apartments after walking past an agent's window. Don't think Matt's going to forgive me for the experience any time soon! Let's just say we know where we don't want to live...
Headed across to the Island again for some yummy Korean fried chicken and saki and watermelon cocktails. One dodgey sport's bar later it was time to call it a night... Matt's currently snoring with the basketball on in the background. Sweet dreams...
