So, plan B (hitch-hiking) was needed right away to take me out of a tight spot. It wasn't a very favorable position to hitch-hike, but it was all I had, so I went to the village limits by the road and started. I found a spot under some street lights and, not being in a situation where I could be very picky, asked for rides in both directions. After an hour or two and some weird events (like a woman stopping and driving backwards when she saw me on the road) I managed to find someone who would take me... back to Alcácer do Sal.
Tomorrow I will rest here for one day and then I will start my hitch-hiking tour. At least now all destinations are open, I don't have to stick to the easier path. I will probably even allow for some randomness in my route, let's see where the wind blows me.
This time everything should go smoothly, as I am not exactly time-constrained and I have the first and second laws of hitch-hiking working on my favor:

1 - If there is a road, some cars have to go on it.
2 - If there are cars on a road, someone will eventually pick you up.

That is the spirit.

Grateful feet
Oh, so that's plan! At least, your feet will at last give some credit to your head. Maybe even happens as - was it in Finland? - that you come to be picked up by the same car more than once!

'Boa sorte' for this brave globetrotter!
