Alhambra and tapas. Not that there are not other things to see, the
city is pretty beautiful, but the Alhambra is so wonderful that it
makes everything else around seem pale. It got one of my votes for the
new seven wonders election and now that I have checked it with my own
eyes, I am very happy for that vote. Quite unlike anything I had seen
so far, the Alhambra bears a truly impressive amount of detail and it
is huge, I felt obliged to lift my self-imposed low limit of pictures
per day and I would have happily paid it more visits if I had more time
(and if it was cheaper :p). Alhambra was the first wannabe wonder that
got my vote to receive my visit, maybe I should start a pilgrimage to
see them all. :)
And then, when you are tired, there are tapas. Betuca and me spent a
lot of time on that - you go to a bar, order a beer and get free food
with each (cheap) beer. And it is not a small amount of food either,
even to the point I did not need to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at
all - I simply had to go to a bar and drink beer...
And on top of that, to complete an excellent experience, I met some
very nice hospitality club people here: Macarena, a Spanish girl who
wants to live in Finland (had to meet her :), Satu, her Finnish friend
living in Granada and Elias, an american guy who lived for some years
in Morocco and along with his Moroccan flatmate Hassan made me and
Betuca some excellent tea and food. It was great to eat there using our
hands while listening to Moroccan music.
Really some perfect three days.
