Today we were picked up at 5.00 am to travel to the San Blas islands, we travelled by jeep fro about 2hrs and some of the terrain was pretty bumpy and muddy, we were glad to be in a big jeep.  The scenery on route was beautiful, lovely views and lots of jungle.  We arrived at a river and then got on a boat that would take us along the river and then into the sea, we arrived at one of the islands at about 10.30 am.  The first island is where some of the Kuna live and is covered with their houses, the lifestyle is completely different here, there are no showers, when you go to the toilet it goes straight into the sea, the fish seem to love it !!  We really like it here, its so nice to getaway from the city for a while.
On the same day we are taken to one of the other islands by boat, the island was called Iguana Island and is just like what you would picture as a desert island, you could walk around the whole island in 5 minutes.  Its a bit cloudy but the sea is still a beautiful turquoise blue and the sand is white and soft like flour.
We got picked up at about 5.00 pm and taken back to the Kuna village to stay the night, the food is quite basic and Emily is starting to live off rice and salad.
