Hervey Bay Day 33

Another early awake time & early leave day. Whilst I was packing up the hoses I looked up to the Palm tree beside our caravan, noticing heaps of Lorikeets enjoying the Palm seeds. So this distracted me for some photos.

We left mum & dad, again, this time we definitely won't be meeting back with them till they are safe & sound home. We had a fabulous time away with them. Enjoyed every second of their company.

We were on the road again. Didn't travel too far before our 1st stop off. We headed to Emu Park & saw the singing ship. It's a very windy day today so the singing ship was happily singing way out of tune. But it's a sight to see & hear. We drove past a really old unused "Big Thing" The Big Whale but it was looking very sad & in need of TLC.

On the road again, next stop was at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. We arrived here at 12.30pm. After so much road works. It seems every 5km there was road works stopping us. No matter which way we turned. The federal budget is being well spent up this way.

It was a very quick stop off at the Bundaberg Rum factory we had the token photo near the Big Bottle of Bundaberg Rum, Bundy bear, bought some T-Shirts coldie holders looked quickly thru the small museum & were off again.

Another quick stop off on the outskirts of Bundaberg to fill with petrol & grab some lunch on the run, & it was off again. This is sugar cane & macadamia nut country. Sugar cane of all different stages was seen either side of the road & large macadamia trees. We saw a train full of sugar cane mulch & a few trucks carrying it.

Another thing we spotted was a Big statue of a magpie & nest on a roof.

We arrived at Hervey Bay at 3pm. Tired, with headaches all round. Long trip with all the road works stopping & starting us with more really bad bumpy roads all the way here.

I booked into a whale tour tomorrow no one else in my family want to join me. So I will be picked up & dropped home. Really looking forward to it.

It is really windy here this afternoon. Jay & I went for a quick drive around the coast & I took some great (hopefully) sun set pictures of the sun setting over the water. It looks like tomorrow will be a really bumpy whale watching trip too.
