In my entire 3 years here in Texas I've never experienced tubing at all so a bunch of us decided to go for a tubing trip before the summer ended. We've been planning this more than a month now, it'd always get cancelled for some reason so I was glad that we were finally pushing through with the plan. Tubing? What is it really? I mean what is so great about it, you're on a freaking floater the entire time and your floating on the river for crying out loud. Well, I had yet to find out.

Pre- 1st Day:   The girls were convincing me to stay over at Apple's house on Friday night just so I don't have to wake up early in the morning to meet up with them at her place. Vynna picked me up at 8pm and we headed out to Apple's house. Friday is normally Marco-Rhea skype day since that's the only time that we're both free so Marco was kind of upset that we weren't skype-ing that night, not that he wasn't already upset with the fact that our wifi has not been working for more than a month now so we weren't really talking properly. Anyway, I ended up bringing my laptop and connecting to Apple's wonderfully perfect WIFI so we skyped all night.

1st Day:   In a few hours we were scheduled to leave for New Braunfels (it's a 3-4 hour drive) but we had to wait for a bunch of our friends coming straight from work (yeah, night shifts). I was actually surprised that we were a lot, I expected around 5 or 7 people but we ended up with like 12 or something like that. So there was Apple, GB, Jasna, Chris, Vynna, Me, Drew, Hessa, Roxi, Ice, Canuto, Ersie, Ron, George and Juan. (did I miss anyone?) Our first stop had to be McDonald's right? for breakfast and then another stop over at a McDonald's for lunch and then a bank just so we can deposit the money that we owed Chris for the room that he booked for us at the Hawthorne. I swear if we stopped by another McDonald's I would have thrown up...super size me much? Finally we headed straigh to New Braunfels and ofcourse it had to be traffic like every single person in Texas planned to go tubing this weekend. We got there around 2:30 or 3-ish and we planned to rent tubes from Abbott's River Rentals or something like that but they ran out of the tubes with the bases so we ended up going to the one right next to it. I totally forgot the name but they were very accomodating. Its $15 per tube with or without base and you have the option to go for the 2- hour or 4-hour tubing thing.  Who wants to be on the river for 4 hours?!? apparently we did so we got all of our tubes, the girls got the ones with bases and we got a few more for our stuff like our bags, chips, drinks and cooler. We also rented a cooler with speakers installed into it so basically it was like a big party on the river with music, beer, chips and our water proof cameras ( I had to be all ghetto and put mine inside a ziplock since it wasnt water proof, hahaha). We were all having a grand time until we kinda lost Apple and Vynna along the way so we just assured each other that we would see them eventually down the stream but I honestly was kind of worried. And then we ran across some crazy currents and almost lost a few of our friends so we decided to hold onto each other until the next one; that was where GB got into an accident, he slipped out of his floater right about thesame time we passed by a shallow area with rocks so he hit his ribs and the next thing we knew he wasn't even moving anymore. I got a hold of him but it was Roxi who grabbed his arm tightly and pulled him back to his floater, we stopped by the closest land/ shore or whatever you call it and asked for help. It was a good thing Canuto brought his phone and that's how we were able to call the medics. While waiting for the ambulance a cop was able to locate us and he directed the ambulance where to go exactly, a few minutes later Apple and Vynna cam floating down the stream. We immediately told them what happened and apple rushed to GB, she went with him to the hospital while the officer adviced us to just finish the route and proceed to the hospital right after since we could not really do anything to help at that moment.  After that incident we decided to tie all of our floaters together only to find out that that really wasn't a good idea because this time we ran into a bunch of stronger currents, the first strong one toppled our speakers floater and the cooler floater, next thing we knew we had beer bottles and soda cans floating all over and ofcourse we had to pick them up. We realized at the end of the line that we actually loss Apple and GB's cooler along the way. Oops..After drying up, all of us headed to the hospital and were relieved to see that GB was okay, he was on a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown but he was generally okay. All of us were tired and starving so we headed out to Rudy's for Barbeque before checking in at Hawthorn Suites.

2nd Day:            Reservations were made for The Oasis Restaurant, a definite must see. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with the food probably because what I got was not one of their specials but the view is just a sight to see. The Oasis is actually a restaurant situated (on top) by Lake Travis (Sunset Capital of Texas) and its known for the beautiful sunset in the area, one of the best from what I heard. The ambiance of the place was also impressive, that's probably one of the reasons why its always packed. Ambiance+View+Food=wonderful Brunch in Austin. A trip with a LOT of girls isn't complete without shopping so we definitely had to make a stop at San Marcos Outlet Mall and shopped the rest of the day. Since we took different cars, we didn't really wait up for each other, the rest went ahead and some stayed to finish up the Victoria's Secret Grand Sale.
