We got here in quick time, the drive was OK we saw our first Elephants on the journey shame they were tamed though. We already knew where we was going to stay, Walker's Inn, it had good reviews in the lonely planet so decided there as to not walk about. It was a good choice, run by an Englishman it had a free pool table and he played good music so a good setting, he kept on apologizing at how much of a state the place was as they were decorating but it was the cleanest place we had been in!
The actual town was a bit of a bore, this place has the history of being one of the worst places affected by the tsunami. Before it happened the beach had bars and restaurants on but when it destroyed all of it the big companies came in and bought all the land and built huge resorts on the beach. So there wasn't that good of a vibe, while we were walking along the beach we had all the 'resort people' looking down at us from their sun loungers. We sat down and chilled watching some surfers which was OK.
The actual strip was pretty boring as well so we played alot of pool! Pretty gutted that we couldn't get down to Krabi, but we had to be out of Thailand in 4 days so there was no point. We had a good bed, with our first proper quilt! Nice and comfy we decided to stay there for 3 nights, we also managed to buy our dive masks as they were pretty cheap, still need to find a snorkel but struggling to figure out which type we want.
It got to the day that we had to leave, we had worked all the route out in buses, we were heading down to Hat Yai which is one of the closest border towns. We left at 8 in the morning and didn't cross the Malaysian border till 8 at night, so a good solid day of traveling but in a new country and excited until we had to find a taxi to get to a hotel....

Captain insano on

You didn't miss out in Krabi. No beach, grey and a decent pizza. Oh and monkey statues on the traffic lights.
