Where I stayed
After having one of my worst nightmares (think a very surreal paranormal activity moment) we decided to try and do something today.
After sorting our train tickets out with the travel agents for our next leg of our journey, we decided to try and get a few sights in.
First on the list was the Grand Palace after a walk-by of the swing by china town, the size and detail of it all is hard to explain how awesome it is
That was it for the palace next on our list was Wat Pho otherwise known to house The Reclining Buddha. This was cool as well, the statue is so long cant really get the aspect of it in the picture, behind the Buddha is 100 something bowls with the meaning of putting a coin in each one as a wish or merit?? i don't know but we done it!! ha!, we donated 20 baht each and got a bowl of tiny coins (think they were satang). We got to about 7 from the end and had run out! so don't know if it counts or not.. oh well. The grounds of Wat Pho is also meant to be the place that Thai massage was born, so we decided to give it a go as first timers. It hurts!! Elle ended up with a bruise on her arse cheek and i had one on my shin!! Felt nice after wards though, maybe just because it had stopped...
We also decided to get a Muay Thai fight in (Thai boxing). We definitely sat in the wrong place here, it was quite a big stadium we were in 3rd class which is the cheapest. It ended up being like a scene out of Deer Hunter, all screaming Thai men wanting to bet with each other. We watched 4 or 5 fights then left as it was getting to rowdy up in the rafters where we was!!
Quite a good day i think, making up on the lost one we had the day before.
Our last full day in Bangkok, gutted as i was looking at boat trips the night before to go to Attuyah the ancient city but they pick you up at about 7.30 so too late and tried booking it for Wednesday but the river is off limits to cruise boats as they are practicing the Royal Flotilla or something. Down to Koh San it is then, for a last bit of shopping and a couple of changs.
Today we get the train to Chumpon then hop on a boat over to Koh Tao so just chilled by the pool and got another massage (not thai this time, maybe on Tao) I also burn quite bad today, cloud bathing is just as bad as sun bathing!!
