OK so I'm writing from Seaside Traveller's Inn in Kinarut (abbreviated to STI which I find extremely amusing) nursing a bit of a hangover from a big night out in KK last night. We ended up in a bar called Bed where a couple of big boobed, tiny waisted asiana girls wiggled around on stage singing all our faves (rihanna, pcd, tina was a hoot!)

So I climbed the mountain the other day like the adventurer I am, and to prove it I had a certificate printed for me for 2 ringgit (you can't beat prices like that). Unfortunately, despite the fact I repeatedly checked the spelling before they printed it...somehow I still ended up with a certificate which stated that "Reeve C Arter" had climbed Mount Kinabalu. I now have no proof I did it and you probably think I stole the certificate off some poor sod called Reeve. Jesuuuuuuuusssss....

The climb was tough and freezing at the top. We were told that a girl died on the climb last year, travelling with the same group that we were. But Andrew assured us that we were in very capable hands. These capable hands turned out to be the hands of local villager and guide Robbi, who reeked of rice wine and later disclosed to us that his guide license was infact a homemade job (he proudly told us he owned his own laminator). I was feeling very confident about the whole thing.

We also checked out Sepilok Nature Reserve this week to see the Orang-Utans, and did some jungle trekking from a village on the Kinabatangan River. I actually went for a swim in said river after our local guide Jeffdy assured me it was safe....he later told us about the 4 metre freshwater crocs in the area. F#$KING HELL JEFFDY!!!

Anyway I'm sick of writing now - we're back on the coast and I think we might grab a couple of kayaks and head out to one of the islands nearby for the day.

love love
