It was literally just around the corner from our hostel and the market runs along the whole of Defensa Street and goes on for probably 3 kilometres.
It was full of local people selling their wears. Lots of stalls selling the general tourist tat, but there were many stalls with really nice hand made jewelery, handbags, pictures etc. If I didn't have a backpack, I could have spent a lot of money here. It definately isn't anything like Eastville Market!!
When we got up to the square, there were lots of different musicians playing and people dancing in the streets
Emma and I managed to lose everyone we were with so after we had looked around all of the stalls, we headed off ad found a little restaurant to have a late lunch.
We then came back to the hostel for a rest as we had been on our feet for several hours looking at all the shiny stuff!
Later that evening, Emma, Andy and I went out to another Steak House for more good quality meat. I ended up having a Rib Eye steak with the best mash potato ever, and Emma had some fancy vegetables and Andy also had a steak. I decided to be a pig and have a dessert, not that I had any room at all left after the amount of meat that I had just eaten, but they had profiteroles on the menu and I couldn't say no. The others didn't have anything and I tried to get them to help me out, but they wouldn't so I ate the whole thing myself. I literally could not get up out of my seat after and had that real uncomfortable feeling where you just need to lie down!
We came back to the hostel and drank some more wine before heading to bed around midnight.
I have to stop eating all this good food as I won't be a slim Jim anymore!!!
