Here I was, thinking before I left Atlanta, that I'd be
"chasing" summer for the next 6 months. Colorado put an end to that idea; it was CoLD during our hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. I was wearing 2 fleece jackets and a winter hat. Our second day of hiking was a much more leisurely jaunt through the woods compared to our grueling epic climb up Mt. Audubon. We didn't see much wildlife except for these damn chipmunks who all the tourists feed, so they'll come right up to you and wait for food.
After our day in the mountains, we returned to Boulder for a pasta dinner, a (much needed) shower, and said our goodbyes to Dave & June. Our plan was to drive straight through to Moab, but since we didn't leave Boulder till 8pm we decided to spend the night in Rifle, Co.
Upon arriving at the campground, I was in the process of reminding my sister to brush her teeth away from the campsite (as we were in Bear country) and she doused her self in Perfume! I'm sure all the bears within a 10 mile radius lifted their noses at what could have probably been a tasty "frosted" youth. Michal "volunteered" to sleep in the truck, and after a couple hours convincing myself that the bears probably wouldn't come, I too fell Asleep.
We woke at sunrise and began our drive to Moab; details to come.
