DAY 9
Up early and Si, our adopted mother gave us all a free lift to the 'ferry dock'.  We got the ferry followed by a bus from Ko Phangnan over to Krabbi.  The ferry was very basic but the sun was shining and it was lovely catching some rays in the warm sea.  All in all we had to get on 3 different bus's/ vans to reach our destination.  The first bus squeezed loads of people on, we were like sardines for a few hours.  It then stopped at, what I suppose is the equivalent of a service station where we were told to wait for the next transfer.  We were then picked up in a people carrier which was nicer but we all had numb bums by the end of it.  The people carrier then dropped us off at another random service station thing which they said was the end of the bus route.  Luckily we had the Lonely Planet Guide to Thailand which we then used to ring around various accommodation places in the near vicinity, we found a 'hotel' who said they had rooms and were very cheap, they offered to come pick us up from the terminal for free.  Being picked up involved throwing us all in to the back of a pick up truck, which we all found highly amusing (sorry mum and dad, it wasn't that bad really!).  We arrived at the hotel which we were obliged to stay in for the night, it wasn't any Hilton, to put it nicely!  It was scary lying in the bed and only used the toilets if we realy needed too, a shower could wait for another day!  Jo, Hannah and Rachels' beds were infested with insects... nice!

Not sure if I have previously mentioned it but Jo, Hannah and Rachel are girls we met early into our travels, Jo and Hannah from UK and Rachel from America, we have since spent all our time together, following the same route.  We have learnt a lot from Rachel and her American ways, such that they have drive through everything there, including banks!  It's funny when we notice a language barrier, lots of words we use are different to the Americans.

Anyway, back to my writing (god this is hard work seeing as I haven't updated it for a while and trying to remember everything we have done, no one has a clue what day it is!)  Yeah, so we literally dumped our bags in the 'hotel' and jogged out to see what was about.  We went to the night market which was nice, very different, loads of Thai stalls selling Thai food (for pennies) and beers, so we sat and ate lots.  We after chatting to some Ameraicans they recommended a cocktail bar nearby so  we checked it out, 6 cocktails later... ha.  Actually, they were very weak and none of us got too drunk.  After a very disappointing, failed attempt of Rachel finding some spring rolls (she has a serious life addiction - which she discovered a few days back, in fact, we all seem to eat an unhealthy amount, probably mostly because it's the only thing we can bare to look at and eat! We know they are 'safe'!), we went back to the 'hotel' where we all knew we were going to get up early as we were departing from there as quick as we could!  The sleep was ok - thank god for our silk sleeping bags!
