My first C++ class (c++ in mandarn - c加 加 )(pinyin - C jiā jiā)(phonics suh jar jar) class, at 8am this morning went well. I really like that classes are so early - feels like i have more time to do stuff for the rest of the day! It is funny to think that by the time i had finished - it was only 3am at home!
These 2nd years were quieter than my web development class but still very nice, this class also cheered when i said it was my first c++ class here in China!
So now i have all day to do prep - and washing. I asked the receptionist where to find the washing machine, she showed me - it's a top loader - she gave be brief instructions on how to use it - of course its all in Chinese - I hope I do it right or I will ruin the few clothes i have here!!!
So I uut the washing on , went to buy pegs, and now my washing is on the line - seems ok!
Temperatures are still about mid 20's. Oh had to buy a mop too because the room everywhere gets really dusty - you should have seen the colour of the washing line - good job i cleaned it before hanging my clothes - goodness knows what's in the air.
Went out again later ( as one of the judges at the English speaking competition) - The girl who introduced herself as Nicole came to meet me and linked arms to take me to the building where the competition was to take place - it was very sweet.
It seems like not as many judges or students turned up as they had hoped. The students were very nervous - i would have liked to have given each one some positive feedback - but we just listened to their speeches on the topic “what I would do if I was given the chance to….”
so here i am back in my room - a wee bit of work and then to bed
good night :o)
